Product description: Cytron Edu:bit - Education kit for BBC micro:bit
Educational kit forBBC micro:bit module (kit does not contain BBC micro:bit module). It consists of main board, which contains pins for most popular interfaces like I2C, digital and analoginput/output pins or connectors to connect servos or motors and socket to plug in BBC micro:bit module. Additionally, the kit comes with 7 modules which include elements such asa buzzer, microphone, potentiometer, IR sensor, 4 programmable RGB LEDs, 3 standard LEDs, and 2 buttons. The module is designed according to the STEAM teaching concept, so it enables learning through play, and the child becomes a creator of knowledge, inventor and constructor at the same time.
The kit does not contain theBBC micro:bitmodule, which is required for its proper functioning, it should be purchased separately.
STEAM - what is it?
STEAM (Science, Technonlogy, Engineering, Art, Mathematics) is an acronym formed from the first letters of the English words for science, technology, engineering and mathematics. The term is an innovative concept of educational policy and curriculum choice in schools. In Poland, the idea of STEM is promoted, among others, by the Polish Association for STEM Education in Gdańsk.
Programming Edu:bit
Programming the kit is very easy, it can be done using Make Code editor by Microsoft. Just plug the micro:bit board into edu:bit and connect it to your computer. MakeCode allows programming with a simple drag & drop block editor, in Python and JavaScript. The manufacturer has prepared a manual divided into 10 chapters with prepared programs and tasks to be performed (manual in English).
The kit includes
The kit consists of the main board and 7 modules that are located on a single PCB and are connected by paths. The manufacturer has provided a possibility to break them out to suit your needs and connect them using Grove standard wires.
