Product description: Unidirectional logic level converter - 4-channel with isolation - SB Components SKU24094

The unidirectional logic level converter from SB Components converts digital signals with voltages from 5 V to 24 V to voltages in the range of 3.3 V to 5 V. This makes it possible to connect devices powered by higher voltage to the inputs of microcontrollers such as Arduino or Raspberry Pi . Each of the four channels is optically isolated by the CNY17-4 system, which ensures the system's resistance to interference and ensures safe operation of the microcontroller. The maximum frequency of the input signal is 5 kHz . Each module output has an LED indicating the status of a given channel. The module has pins in the form of screw connectors for connecting wires and male goldpin plugs with a pitch of 2.54 mm.

Unidirectional Logic Level Converter - 4 Channel Isolated - SB Components SKU24094

The module ensures signal level conversion in one direction only!

Module outputs in the form of screw connectors

Description of the converter pins

The inputs and outputs of each channel are described by an appropriate number (from 1 to 4). The inputs (INPUT) are located next to the HV pins, and the outputs (OUTPUT) are located next to the LV pins. You should also remember to connect the power supply to the pins marked as follows:

  • HVIN - positive supply voltage of input signals from 5 V to 24 V
  • HVGND - common ground for input signals
  • LVIN - positive supply voltage of the output system with a voltage from 3.3 V to 5 V
  • LVGND - common ground for output signals

How to connect a logic level converter?

For proper operation of the converter, remember to connect both power connectors. The HVIN input voltage can range from 5 V to 24 V, while the LVIN output voltage can range from 3.3 V to 5 V. The HVGND and LVGND pins should be connected to the ground of the power supply systems. Logic signals have inputs and outputs marked with a channel number (from 1 to 4). The manufacturer has verified the compatibility of the module with microcontrollers such as: Raspberry Pi 1/2/3/4, Odroid C1/C1+/C2, Arduino and Beaglebone Black/Green.
