Edison educational robots are the work of true technology enthusiasts from Australian company Microbric. The company has been working with schools and universities since 2004. The Edison project was launched in 2014 - in order to launch the project, the creators set up a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter, as a result of which more than $100,000 was raised for the purpose. Robot Edison is the result of years of experience of the creators and their passion for the projects they make. Microbric's goal is to popularize electronics, robotics and programming among as many people as possible of all ages. The technology produced by Microbric aims to give users the opportunity to experiment and play in order to develop their creative imagination, without the need for expensive tools. Edison educational robots are solidly built and safe and allow for thorough expansion of ideas.

Edison - the intelligent robot that overcomes a motion path with high accuracy
The Edison robot is designed to meet high quality and safety requirements. The robot's driving wheels are equipped with encoders, which are a kind of digital equivalent of a traditional potentiometer. The encoders are connected to the robot's internal controller. This allows the robot to travel a well-defined distance at an appropriate speed, which works in a similar way to cruise control in cars. The turning of the robot is also done according to the angle specified in the dedicated mobile application. Also, when driving straight ahead, the robot's motion path is properly stabilized, even despite large irregularities in the ground.
Edison - design development continuing at its best!
Since its launch in 2014, the Edison robot has been continuously developed and has seen a number of improvements. The latest version of the robot features a more precise obstacle detection mechanism, which only needs to be calibrated once before using the robot. Higher quality electronic components and a modified sleep mode reduce battery consumption. The sleep mode is activated after five minutes of inactivity. In addition, the robot's program memory has been increased from a serial 1 kB to 5 kB. The robot can be programmed using the easy to use dedicated software EdPy and EdBlocks.
