The name filament comes from the Latin word " filum ", meaning " thread ". This is a very accurate term, because the 3D printing filament looks like a thread - it is round in cross-section and wound on a spool . Basic parameters - Filaments for 3D printers
The plastics mentioned above differ in chemical and physical parameters , which translates into their different operational parameters - both in the finished product and in the 3D printer itself. From the point of view of a 3D printer, the most important parameter to know is the glass transition temperature, above which the temperature of the hot extruder nozzle in the printer head should be set.
