Description
The module allows to receive and send short messages anywhere in the world, even without wi-fi or GSM connection. The only condition, similarly to the GPS devices, is the clear sky above the device. The system can be used, i.a. for sending the information from the middle of the ocean or for controlling the robot located on the desert.
The heart of the module is a satellite Iridium 9602 modem. The device operates with a voltage of up to 5 V, it communicates through the UART (RX, TX) interface, it also has antenna and pins in the form of soldered goldpin strap - pitch of 2.54 mm. The system can be combined with any microcontroller (e.g.Arduino), or a computer using theUSB - UARTadapter, for example, FTDI.
The Iridium network consists of 66 devices on the orbit that enables the transmission of information from any point on Earth, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, even in places where there is no wi-fi and GSM connection.
