Description
The matrix is composed of 64 RGB LEDs of which each can be managed separately to reflect the color from 24-bit palette. The elements are evenly distributed in eight rows and eight columns. The module needs only one pin of any microcontroller (e.g.Arduino). The system is powered by 5 V, consuming not more than 60 mA for each led (white color). The manufacturer recommends to use apower supplywith maximum output current of at least 2 A.
Applied communication protocol enables the serial connection of the matrix. Another NeoMatrix should be connected to the output connector, combining with each other respectively, 5V, GND, DOUT and DIN. The manufacturer notes that when using four or more matrices, there may not be enough RAM in the system Arduino Uno. You should also note that every following matrix will require increasing the productivity power.
Connection
The device has a 3-pin connector consisting of the following outputs:- GND- module's ground
- 5 Vsupply voltage, for one matrix you should connect a source with a maximum output current of at least 2 A, for example, power supply 5V/2,5; if in the project there is a situation when all LEDs light up simultaneously in white color, then you need to use the adapter at least 3.5 A - each led then consumes a maximum current of 60 mA
- DIN- digital control signal from the microcontroller
The product is compatible with Arduino The manufacturer providesthe Arduino library in GitHubfor modules NeoPixel along withthe connection examples. |
