Adapters for connecting Gravity modules
The Gravity series hardware extensions from DFRobot can also work with other hardware extensions that are compatible with Raspberry Pi, Arduino and other popular single chip minicomputers for embedded systems. You can find ARK to Gravity adapters, among others, in our offer. ARK type connectors are also known as Terminal Blocks, and they feature screw terminals with pressure plates. You can use these types of connectors to create wire connections without directly soldering the wire ends to the PCB. Clamping plates of ARK connector are made of high quality metal alloy containing high content of copper, thanks to which screw clamp type ARK is solid, mechanically resistant thanks to high elasticity and provides very good quality of electrical connection, what is reflected in very low contact resistance.
Connection wires for Gravity modules - high quality first
One of the most important parameters determining the quality and usability of electrical wires in a particular application, is the material of the wire. Most often copper, aluminum, silver and gold are used to manufacture wires. These are metals, which are characterized by particularly low resistivity, thanks to which they conduct electricity very well. The most common type of wires for electronic devices, are copper wires. Additionally, in order to increase the conductivity of copper wires, they are factory silver plated. Another factor that determines the usability of a wire is its geometric dimensions, i.e. length and cross-sectional area. The flow of electric current is inherently connected with the emission of heat. Therefore, the lower resistivity of the cable material and the larger cross-section and shorter length of the cable, the lower heat loss. Cables for connecting Gravity modules have been designed in such a way, that during their connection no mistake could lead to irreversible damage to the modules. This is ensured by the appropriate shape of the snap connectors with a key type JST, which can be connected together in only one possible position. Connection wires for Gravity modules are terminated with KF2510-3P and PH2.0-3P connectors. The insulation colors of the wires correspond to their function as standard, i.e. red insulation - power supply potential, black insulation - ground potential, orange insulation - control signal. The insulation of conductors shows good resistance to high temperature, even at long-lasting load of several hundred milliamperes.
