LED technology has become so widespread in the lighting industry that it is difficult to imagine today an effective and energy-efficient lighting system without LEDs and all the luminaires in which they are used. Therefore, it can be concluded that LED lighting is no longer a luxury, but a standard. It also creates great opportunities associated with light management, changing its intensity and color. Using universal LED tapes, we can get an original light decoration with interesting optical effects. For this purpose, it is necessary to install the appropriate drivers. They allow for controlling the lighting and adapting it to our needs, the current mood, as well as the climate and atmosphere that we want to arrange in the room at this point. Check what drivers for LED tapes we have prepared for you to enable you to create spectacular light illuminations in the living room, bedroom, children's room, kitchen and outside - in the garden and on the balcony.

LED driver - All colors of the rainbow
LED drivers (LED dimmer) enable easy and precise setting of the color and brightness of LED strips and tapes . When choosing the right solution, it is worth considering the target application.
The RGB LED controller with Bluetooth or WiFi connectivity is perfect for a bedroom or guest room, where you can easily set lighting parameters using a mobile application or a web browser. For a club or restaurant, an LED controller equipped with an RGB amplifier with a powerful output power of up to 288W will be a good choice, which will enable you to control the lighting of even large rooms.
For smaller installations, LED strip controllers with an IR remote control, equipped with output connectors compatible with the contact fields of typical LED strips, are perfect. Easy and intuitive control of LED strips allows you to create atmospheric lighting in virtually any room. We encourage you to read the entire LED strips and chains section, where you can find, among others: standard LED strips , addressed LED strips and a wide selection of power supplies .
Connecting the LED controller
Most LED strip controllers are powered by a DC voltage source, usually in the range of 12 - 24 V. Always make sure that the selected LED controller has power supply parameters consistent with the manufacturer's specifications - before connecting, be sure to check the supply voltage and current efficiency of the power supply. It is worth remembering that multi-channel LED drivers may require higher current efficiency than standard models.
LED lighting control - other information
The specification of permissible environmental conditions is also very important - some LED drivers can work outdoors if they are adapted to changing temperatures and high humidity (e.g. during heavy rain). Controlling LEDs using an inappropriate driver may pose a risk of electric shock, so always read the instructions for a given driver carefully.
"Open" solutions - boards and modules for controlling LEDs
In addition to ready-made devices, our offer also includes drivers for LED strips , which are perfect for use in prototypes and as modules of larger devices.
The SparkFun controller with an integrated TLC5940 PWM generator allows you to control diodes via the SPI interface - you can power 16 diodes directly from the module. Each channel is a separately regulated current source with a maximum efficiency of up to 130 mA, a keyed PWM signal with a duty cycle set using programmable registers of the system.
Other LED drivers
The small Adafruit FadeCandy board allows you to simultaneously control WS2811 or WS2812 digital diodes via the USB interface in as many as 512 channels! Another interesting solution are modules that allow you to control the lighting using gestures or touch - the intelligent mirror will turn on the lighting as soon as you touch it.
Do you have questions about LED modules (e.g. dimmable)? Don't know how to connect an RGB controller? We encourage you to contact our experienced advisors who will be happy to solve problems with the use of LED strips and help you choose the right drivers, strips and accessories.
Drivers for LED tapes and strips - FAQ
Connecting the controller depends on the number of channels and type of lighting. In the case of RGB controllers, individual channels (red, green and blue) should be connected to the corresponding pins of the LED strip or module , and the common pin (usually "+") should be connected to the main strip power bus. Addressable diode drivers, on the other hand, have separate power supply (+), ground, data (DAT) and clock (CLK) lines, corresponding to the same pins of the lighting module.
An LED controller is an electronic device whose task is to appropriately control the brightness and color (in the case of RGB systems) of LED strips and modules. Individual controllers differ, among others: output power and control method (remote control, mobile application, built-in buttons, etc.).
