What is an e-paper?

E-paper displays use electrophoretic microcapsule technology for display: charged particles suspended in a transparent liquid will move to the sides of the microcapsule when an electric field is applied, making the microcapsule visible by reflecting ambient light, just like traditional printed paper. The e-paper display clearly displays images/text in lamplight or natural light, requires no backlight, and has a viewing angle of nearly 170°. This type of display is usually used in e-book readers because of its paper-like effect.

The display works perfectly. It is easy to program.

I was looking for a display on I2C. The description and title of this product suggests that the display can be controlled by both I2C and SPI, and this sometimes turns out that both interfaces are needed for full functionality.
