The DFRobot module with a ATmega328P microcontroller known form Arduino Uno. In addition to the traditional features of this type of boards, it has a Bluetooth module, dual-channel TB6612 driver of motors with performance of 1.2 A, and automatic detection of the power source. The device can be programmed via microUSB cable using the Arduino IDE environment.

Description

Romeo BLE is fully compatible with the popular Arduino Uno module. This means that it can be programmed throughthe Arduino IDEusing available libraries. In addition to the traditional features of the Arduino boards, it hass a BLE CC2540 system which allows for communication via Bluetooth 4.0, dual 1,2 A driver of motors and automatic detection of power source.

The board contains an ATmega328p microcontroller, is equipped with 8 digital I/O, 4 of which can be used as PWM outputs (e.g. for motor control) and 4 as analog inputs. The module has also USB connector, screw power socket, RESET and BOOT button, and the leads used to connectthe I2C devices.

 

The device has many additional features that do not exist in traditional Arduino boards:

  • BLE CC2540moduleby Texas Instruments- a system that allows for communication and programming via Bluetooth at a distance of up to 70 m in open space
  • LEDs -they are informing about the status of voltage, communication and wireless connection.
  • the TB6612 dual-channelmotor's driver- enables speed control of the direction of rotation of two DC motors with a current consumption up to 1. 2 A.

DFRobot company introduced colored connectors that facilitate the identification of the leads:

  • red- power pins
  • blue - analog pins
  • green- digital pins
  • black- ground

 

To start the module, you must connect the system to computer usingmicroUSB cableand choose inthe Arduino IDE, the Arduino Uno board. Detailed product description can be found inthe user guide.

     

Power

The module can be powered viathe USB cableand the external device, for example, the AC adapter, the battery or the rechargeable battery. Switching the power sources is automatic. The power supply is connected to the screwsocket. You can also power the module via the microUSB connector.

Programming

Creating and installing the software isallowed by the free environmentof the Arduino IDE. Implemented bootloader allows you to send the program directly via microUSB cable.
