A measure for every occasion
During construction or renovation, it is important that the distances are well and precisely measured. There are various types of laser meters available on the market, but a true electronics enthusiast and DIY enthusiast can make such a meter himself. The distance sensors available in our store are of the highest quality and at very affordable prices, which allows you to design your own rangefinder, and the satisfaction of creating your own device is priceless. We invite all enthusiasts of building their own machines.
Operation of distance meters
Distance sensors in our store are a large section - we have various types of distance sensors, e.g. analog or ultrasonic. How does such a sensor work? The principle of operation is extremely simple - the emitter sends an ultrasonic wave of a given frequency and when this wave encounters an obstacle, it returns and is received by the sensor. However, the return time of such a wave is crucial here, because the signal reaches the detector even when there is no detected object within the sensor's range. This is because the wave can reflect off various surfaces and interfere with the reading. If the signal returns to the sensor in a shorter time than the specified time, it means that the measured object is within its range, but if the time is longer, we assume that the reflection occurred from the wall or machine housing.
Advantages of ultrasonic sensors
Despite being susceptible to interference, ultrasonic technology and distance sensors based on such sensors have a number of advantages over other technologies. Resistance to dirt and even the ability to self-clean is irreplaceable in difficult conditions. Such sensors can work in almost any circumstances - they are not bothered by the weather outside the window and have no difficulty in detecting transparent materials such as optical sensors. Thick dust and dense dust are no challenge - distance sensors based on ultrasonic technology can - provided they have tight housings - work even underwater. Check out our assortment and choose the right sensor for your system.
