ToF4M is an advanced distance sensor module based on Time-of-Flight technology, which offers precise distance measurement in the range from 4 cm to 400 cm with an accuracy of 0.1 mm . Thanks to this, it is able to detect even the smallest changes in distance and record details of the surface of objects. The fast response time allows measurements to be taken within milliseconds, making the ToF4M Unit ideal for applications requiring immediate response. The module uses the I2C communication protocol, ensuring simplified connection, support for multi-master and multi-slave topologies and high reliability. It can be easily integrated into existing sensor buses , effectively saving I/O resources. A standard cable with a Grove interface guarantees stable and reliable signal transmission. Working with the M5Stack hardware ecosystem, ToF4M offers plug-and-play functionality, enabling rapid project development.

How does the ToF4M module work?
ToF4M Unit uses Time-of-Flight (ToF) technology to precisely measure distances. The VL53L1CXV0FY/1 sensor emits a laser pulse that is reflected from the object and returns to the sensor. The device measures the time it takes for the impulse to return and then converts this time into distance . Thanks to this, ToF4M is able to detect even the smallest changes in distance with exceptional precision of up to 0.1 mm.
