PLC controller – what is it?
Originally, the task of the programmable logic controller was to eliminate wiring to a minimum, which in practice turned out to be problematic in use. PLC controllers, or rather their structure, are based on a central unit, also called CPU. The efficient processor quickly processes data and, based on it, performs previously programmed actions. Two modules are also necessary for the device to operate, namely power supply and communication. The power module is responsible for stable and safe power supply to the controller. In turn, the communication module (or communication modules). Nowadays, virtually every modern production plant, assembly line or factory uses controllers (control systems). What else is worth knowing about their construction?

- The capabilities and applications of a specific PLC are determined by, among others: inputs and outputs, which are divided into two types - analog and digital. Digital inputs, also called binary, receive information from sensors in the form of 0 or 1. In turn, analog inputs are used for so-called continuous measurements. The modular controller, in cooperation with sensors, can measure e.g. temperature and humidity.
