Product description: D36V50F12 - 12 V 6.5 A step-down 12 V drive
Astep-downconverter with12 Voutput voltage, operates on an input voltage between13.3 Vand50 V. The maximumcurrent capacity isfrom 2.3 A to 6.5 A. The module has a wide range of input voltages from 13.3 V to 50 V, the minimum value depends on thedrop-outvoltage.
Other inverters in this series are also available: |
The converters are equipped with a reversal protection up to 40 V, under-voltage and over-voltage output protection and over-current and short circuit protection.
D36V50F12 inverter outputs
Contact | Description |
---|---|
VOUT | Output voltage. |
GND | Mass potential. |
VIN | Input voltage. |
VRP | Provides access to the input voltage after activation of the voltage reversal protection. It can be used as an output to supply power to other devices or as a VIN with bypassed reversal protection. |
EN | The inverter can be put intothe sleep stateby reducing the voltage at the EN contact to less than 1.2 V, and can be brought out of this state by increasing the voltage at the EN contact above 1.35 V. |
PG | Power Good, an open drain output that decreases when the output voltage increases by more than 20% and the output voltage decreases by more than 10%. |
The connectors are also signed on the board. The module can be plugged into thecontact board, wiredor solderedinto a dedicated PCB.
On customer's request, we can supply a circuit with soldered goldpin connectors. For this purpose, please leave the information in the commentary to the order. |
Voltage drop-out
TheDrop-outVoltageparameterisrequiredfor correct operation of the inverter, minimum difference between input and output voltage. For example,if the drop-out voltage is 1 V and the output voltage you want to receive is 5 V, the supply voltage should be higher than 6 V.Thediagrams below show the drop-out voltage value forD36V50Fxinverters.

System efficiency
The efficiency of an inverter is the ratio of output power to input power. It is an extremely important parameter when working with portable energy sources such as batteriesandaccumulators wherethe operating time per charge cycle counts. The following diagrams show the efficiency parameter in theD36V50Fxseries.

Output current
The maximum output current varies depending on theinput voltageand factors such asambient temperature, airflow andheatabsorption. The graphs below show the maximum output currents of the D36V50F1x at room temperature, still air, and without additional heat traps.
Maximum output current.
Standby current
This is the current used by the system topower itselfonly, the chart below shows the idle current for all systems in the D36V50F1x series. The EN contact can be set to a low level to put the inverters in a low power state.
