Build a robot!
Botland offers customers a variety of kits for building walking robots and riding robots. Depending on the model chosen, the degree of difficulty and involvement needed varies. The simplest versions are designed in such a way that the user only has to assemble, connect and plug in the relevant components. Some of the devices on offer have dedicated smartphone apps so that the robot can be freely programmed (block by block) using the implemented interface. Such a construction of the robot may even be suitable for a child, who, thanks to the robot, will get to know and learn the basic principles of electronics, mechanics and programming.
Educational robots for younger and older
An excellent example is Velleman's intelligent Tobbie Robot (hexabot), which can independently avoid objects and follow them. An excellent example of a robot for both children and adults is the ready-made set of two Vortex robots. These are educational robots that teach programming. The child can learn the basic principles behind electronics, robotics, and most importantly, programming. They can be trained using a dedicated smartphone app (which connects to the robot wirelessly), while a more advanced user can program the devices directly through the Arduino or Scratch environment. Communication is done via Bluetooth, USB or I2C. The robot has 12 RGB LEDs, plays MP3 sounds, can express emotions with eye expression, and has a gyroscope, accelerometer sound sensor, touch sensor, temperature sensor, ultrasonic sensor (for obstacle detection) and has the ability to extend these capabilities via the I2C bus. Everything is fully programmable, so it all depends on the skill and ingenuity of the programmer, who learns by the way each of the received elements works.
For advanced constructors
In our store you can also find more difficult kits for self-assembly, which after assembling will create a simple robot. These are sets that not only have to be connected by yourself, but also solder some of the elements and then program the logic circuit. Such construction of a robot develops, among other things, manual skills, which every electronics or robotics technician should have.
