Build a robot!
Botland offers customers various kits for building walking robots and driving robots. Depending on the model chosen, the degree of difficulty and the commitment needed vary. The simplest versions are designed in such a way that the user only needs to assemble, connect and connect the appropriate elements. Some of the offered devices have dedicated applications for smartphones, thanks to which you can freely program the robot (blockwise) using the implemented interface. This structure of the robot may even be suitable for a child who will learn the basic principles of electronics, mechanics and programming.
Educational robots for younger and older people
A perfect example is the intelligent Tobbie Robot from Velleman (hexabot), which can independently avoid and follow objects. A great example of a robot for both children and adults is a ready-made set of two Vortex robots. These are educational robots that teach programming. The child can learn the basic principles of electronics, robotics and, above all, programming. They can be trained using a dedicated smartphone application (which connects to the robot wirelessly), while a more advanced user can program the devices directly via the Arduino or Scratch environment. Communication takes place via Bluetooth, USB or I2C. The robot has 12 RGB LEDs, plays sounds in MP3 format, can express emotions with eye expression, and has a gyroscope, accelerometer, sound, touch and temperature sensors, an ultrasonic sensor (for detecting obstacles) and can expand these capabilities thanks to the I2C bus. Everything is fully programmable, so everything depends on the skills and ingenuity of the programmer, who learns from the operation of each received element.
For advanced
In our store you can also find more difficult self-assembly kits, which, when assembled, will create a simple robot. These are sets that you not only have to connect yourself, but also solder some of the elements and then program the logic system. This construction of the robot develops, among other things, manual skills that every electronics or robotics engineer should have. In this way, a Linefollower robot (follows a line on the ground), Minisumo and many others can be created. Build a robot for yourself or your child!
Build a robot! - FAQ
The easiest way is to build your first robot using ready-made kits that allow you to create this type of device based on detailed instructions and a set of appropriately selected parts.
It is possible to create your own robot from scratch, based on separately selected parts, but also by using creative kits that allow you to build robots based on your own design.
Most often, robots are programmed from a computer, creating software and then downloading it to the device, but it can also be done remotely in real time (if the robot has wireless communication capabilities).
The best choice for starting your adventure with robotics are sets with educational robots , which allow you to learn how to construct such devices, the principles of electronics and the basics of coding.
Robot programming is quite a broad field, but the basics are not complicated and you can easily learn them, for example, from FORBOT courses or by reading our blog .
