Product description: Gravity - TT Motor Encoders Kit - DFRobot SEN0038
A detailed user guide is available on the manufacturer's website. Among other things it contains instructions for assembling the kit components and sample program code.
Encoder principle - what is an encoder used for?
An encoder uses a non-contact method of converting angular displacement signals. It is the basis in most automatic devices. It is a kind of motion control sensor which provides feedback to the control system (e.g. Arduino). It allows you to determine, among other things, the position of machine elements, the angle and number of turns of the motor shaft, rotational speed or its direction.
If you are tired of questions - how to install the encoder? - visit the user's guide.
What is the Gravity connector?
The Gravity series modules have a PH2.0-3P connector, with which you can make quick and convenient connections. This is the so-called Plug&Play design. The Gravity system does not require soldering, and its use is especially appreciated in projects based on prototyping.
