Description: Adafruit PN532 NFC / RFID controller 13.56MHz
Board allows you to read and save data from the NFC and RFID devices at 13.56 MHz. The module is based on the popular PN532 system, it has a built-in antenna powered by a voltage of 3.3 V and communicates via 3.3 V UART, I2C or SPI.
A detailed description of connections is in the user manual.
NFC (Near Field Communications) is the communication system between located very close to each other devices (up to 20 cm). The interface does not require authentication, it is an extension of RFID, focused primarily on data exchange in mobile phones, for example, to implement fast payment.

The module can read the so-called RFID tags, which are, for example, cards and keychains, operating at a frequency of 13.56 MHz. Built-in antenna allows to communicate at a distance up to 10 cm, even through non-metallic cover or case.
The product is compatible with Arduino The manufacturer providesthe Arduino library on GitHubalong witha user manual. |
The system is very flexible in the matter of communication. The user can select one of the interfaces: 3.3 V UART,I2C or SPI. Using FTDI 3.3 V converter for TX RX PN532 pins, it can be connected to the USB port of the computer and read data using a virtual COM port.
