Patchcord Ethernet cables are the basic elements of a network installation, which are well known to both advanced people and complete laymen. The truth is that there is no network installation without ethernet patchcords. These short, handy Ethernet connection cables are an indispensable element of any server room or network box, whether it is at home, in a small office or large building. Without Ethernet cables, we will not get a wired network connection, which still has much better parameters (also higher speed) compared to the Wi-Fi connection. But, what is a patchcord? It is a so-called patch cord, in a way a short section of a power cord, terminated on both sides with appropriate plugs. It is used to connect network devices working in a star topology.

A wide range of network patch cords used to connect passive and active devices
The patch cords available in our store will meet all the requirements of people building server rooms or network boxes, as well as stringent specifications for data transmission, including: in LAN networks. LAN networks (Local Area Network) are mostly used in homes or offices. All patch cords are protected with a durable coating that prevents damage to the cable. They are used to connect a subscriber's socket, e.g. to a router.
The available UTP and STP cat 5e and cat 6e patch cord cables (very fast data transmission) can operate at various transmission speeds, also using PoE. A wide range of available Ethernet cable lengths and colors allows you to create neat and aesthetic connections even in the most complex systems. Check out the full offer of patch cords. The Botland store offers a wide selection of patchcord network cables at attractive prices!
Ethernet cable - network cables of various technologies (including computer networks)
Our offer includes UTP and STP category 5 and 6 cables (cat 5 and cat 6, i.e. the highest transmission parameters). These terms characterize the structure of Ethernet cables and specify, among others, what type of installations and maximum transmission speeds they are suitable for.
UTP and STP are the so-called twisted pairs, i.e. cables equipped with network wires twisted together, which is intended to improve the resistance of transmitted signals to interference. Moreover, STP cables are equipped with a screen that protects the transmission against electromagnetic interference. Additionally, patch cords must meet stringent crosstalk specifications.
Tidiness in cabling thanks to the appropriate selection of patch cord lengths
Various colors and lengths of cables available in our store allow you to effectively and aesthetically create any network installation. Patchcord network cables are available in standard lengths such as 0.25 m, 0.5 m, 1 m, 1.5 m, 2 m, 3 m, 4 m, 5 m, 7.5 m, 10 m, 15 m , 20 m and 30 m.
Choosing an Ethernet cable of the appropriate length means that you do not have to roll up the excess cable and struggle with cramming it in a closet or junction box. In extreme cases, you can also make a patchcord network cable of the required length yourself if none of the standard ones are suitable.
In our store you can find unassembled network cable in rolls of 305 m. Patch cords are used in home, office and hotel Internet networks. In addition, they are distinguished by a flexible strain relief that prevents accidental disconnection of installation cables, e.g. from a subscriber socket. Additionally, they are used to connect to the computer's network card.
Colored patch cords are the key to clear installation
Maintaining a clear color scheme, e.g. in a patch panel, is extremely useful, especially during service work. Thanks to patch cords available in various colors, it is very easy to maintain the readability of the network installation.
Our store offers patch cables (patch cables) in colors such as: white, black, red, blue, gray, green and yellow. Thanks to detailed quality control, all patch cords available in our store are distinguished by their long service life and reliability.
Ethernet Patchcords - FAQ
A patchcord cable is nothing more than a short section of twisted-pair Ethernet cable terminated with factory-made RJ45 connectors (8P8C), used to make connections in server racks, network switches , etc.
Connect the Ethernet cable to the RJ45 socket by inserting the plug until you hear a distinct click. If we are dealing with a computer without an appropriate connector (e.g. a more modern laptop), the problem can be circumvented by using an external USB-Ethernet network card .
The quality of an Ethernet cable - measured by its performance in terms of data transmission speed - can be felt more clearly the longer its length. Fast networks (especially Gigabit Ethernet) require appropriate shielding of individual pairs of cables, and the capabilities of the cable are determined by its class (e.g. Cat 6).
Most routers have at least 4 or 5 built-in ports, one of them is most often marked with the word Internet or WAN, and the others - with consecutive numbers (e.g. Ethernet 1,2,3... or LAN 1,2,3...). When connecting the router to an external network, use the first of the above-mentioned sockets, and to connect a computer or other terminal device - any of the Ethernet/LAN sockets.
If your laptop has an Ethernet port (RJ45), you can connect the cable by inserting it into the socket until you hear a click. If there is no wired network socket, an external USB-Ethernet adapter can be used.
To extend the Ethernet cable, you can use a passive adapter (adapter), equipped with two RJ45 sockets connected 1:1 (i.e. each pin of one socket with the corresponding pin of the other). There are also connectors for installation cables, i.e. without plugs - an example of such a solution is the LogiLink NP0012B connector.
For most typical applications (e.g. at home or a small office), UTP category 5e cables will be sufficient. For faster networks, you should choose higher-class cables, e.g. Cat 6.
In home applications, class 5e Ethernet cables are most often used - they are useful for connecting end devices (desktop computers, laptops, network receivers or IP cameras) with the router. Our offer includes suitable cables in various lengths.
