Product description: Feather RP2350 - board with RP2350 microcontroller and HSTX connector - Adafruit 6000
The Feather RP2350 HSTX from Adafruit is a board with the Raspberry Pi RP2350 microcontroller , offering powerful computing capabilities in a compact form factor. With support for two M33 cores, 520 KB of SRAM , and support for CircuitPython, MicroPython, the Arduino IDE, and C/C++ , the board enables the development of advanced applications at low power consumption. The innovative HSTX output allows for differential data transfer (e.g., DVI) without the need for excessive clock overclocking. An integrated USB Type-C port , Li-Po charger, SWD debug support, and RGB NeoPixel make the Feather RP2350 an ideal choice for modern electronics makers.
Key Features of the Feather RP2350
- Modern RP2350 microcontroller: two ARM Cortex M33 cores clocked at 150 MHz with FPU support
- Programming language support: CircuitPython, MicroPython, Arduino, C/C++
- 8 MB SPI Flash: for user code and files
- 520kB SRAM: twice that of the RP2040, ideal for buffer-intensive applications
- HSTX connector: 22 pins, 4 differential lines for transmitting video signals or high-speed communication
- 24 PWM channels: control of diodes, servos and motors
- 4 x 12-bit ADCs: one more than Pico 2
- STEMMA QT connector: compatible with Qwiic and Grove, allows quick connection of I2C modules
- Li-Pol 200 mA+ charger with charging indicator LED : when using non-rechargeable batteries, the charger can be turned off by cutting the jumper on the back of the board
- Built-in RGB NeoPixel: full-color RGB LED for status indication
Feather RP2350 board pins and connectors
The board offers 29 GPIO pins , 21 of which are on the standard Feather connector and another 8 on the HSTX connector. Each pin has a variety of alternative functions, including PWM, UART, I2C, and SPI. Analog inputs A0-A3 use 12-bit ADCs. The STEMMA QT (JST SH 4-pin) offers simple, solderless integration with I2C sensors. A USB Type-C port is used for both power and programming, while a SWD connector (3-pin JST SH) allows for debugging. BAT, USB, and 3.3V outputs are also available, with the ability to monitor battery status via a resistor divider.
Programming and compatibility
The Feather RP2350 supports a wide range of development environments: official MicroPython , Adafruit CircuitPython with full library support, C/C++ , and Arduino (unofficial but stable support) . The built-in UF2 bootloader allows firmware updates by dragging files to a USB drive without installing additional software. Support for numerous libraries and examples makes getting started with the board exceptionally quick and easy.
