In LiPol chargers category you will find a wide selection of chargers designed for special LiPol batteries. This type of cells are often used by electronics engineers, robotics or modellers (for remote controlled cars or drones). They require appropriate charging to retain their unique properties. Such batteries are not very resistant to overcharging, so complex electronic circuits are used in chargers designed for them.

Most LiPol batteries are charged using the CC/CV method. This means that once connected, the charger increases the voltage on the battery to the maximum level (4.2 V per cell), keeping the current constant, and then once the peak is reached, it remains at a constant voltage, slowly reducing the current value.
Operation of LiPol batteries
A LiPol type battery is constructed from a lithium alloy and conductive polymers (a lithium polymer battery). When you buy a battery, you're usually dealing with what's called a pack - a battery that consists of more than one lithium polymer cell (often referred to as a cell). Packs with two or three cells are most commonly used in robotics or electronics. In connection with such solution often appears the problem of uneven discharge of cells. Additionally, it should be taken into account, that less charged cell discharges faster, so in case of bigger number of cells the difference between them increases quickly. A cell that is too heavily discharged (below 3 V) can be permanently damaged very quickly. To prevent this from happening, most batteries and chargers have special balancers. This is usually a second plug (next to the one for charging), thanks to which you can measure the voltage on each cell separately. Most of produced chargers for LiPol batteries allow charging cells with the help of balancers.
What we offer
Most chargers give you the ability to both charge and discharge batteries. This way you will always be able to provide the battery with a healthy discharge if you do not want to risk over-discharging the pack. All chargers in this category are equipped with balancers.
