Goldpin connector design
Connectors based on pin leads (goldpin) can be connected in several ways. Typically, one part of the connector consists of male pin leads, soldered to the PCB, the ends of which can be placed perpendicular to the board surface or parallel, in the form of leads appropriately curved at an angle of 90°. The most common goldpin connectors are single- and double-row connectors with a pin pitch of 2.54 mm. Such connectors are found, among others, in Arduino and Raspberry Pi boards, while XBee boards use connectors with a pitch of 2.00 mm.
Gold - a metal with many advantages that can be seen in electronics
Due to its very good physicochemical properties , gold is used not only in jewelry, but also in electronics. Due to its very low resistivity, gold is a very good conductor and is therefore used in the production of electronic connectors, allowing very small currents to flow . Compared to other low-resistivity metals, such as copper or silver, gold is much more resistant to aggressive environmental conditions that can lead to corrosion. A gold alloy containing metals such as nickel or cobalt increases its mechanical strength. For these reasons, gold is used to produce goldpin connectors , ensuring a reliable connection between interacting electronic systems.
Goldpin sockets and pin connectors - Botland - Shop for robotics
The Botland store's assortment includes both single goldpin sockets and sets consisting of several or a dozen pieces. We offer, among others: precise single-row strips, as well as strips with terminals that eliminate the need for soldering. The goldpin connector allows you to connect various types of accessories, including overlays extending the functionality of minicomputers and microcontrollers. The ability to directly connect the goldpin strip to the breadboard significantly speeds up and facilitates prototyping.
The Goldpin pin socket is one of the most frequently used connectors in electronics. It acts as an intermediary between accessories and external devices and the PCB. The popular Goldpin connectors come in both single-row and double-row versions, as well as male and female variants. The three most common pin pitches are 2.54 mm, 2 mm and 1.27 mm. Additionally, Goldpin connectors are divided according to their application. The first group includes connectors used in surface assembly, i.e. SMD, while the second group includes connectors used in through-hole assembly, i.e. THT.
Insulation strippers and crimpers are a group of hand tools that are particularly useful in electrical and electronic work requiring connection of devices or accessories via wires of various cross-sections. The goldpin crimper allows you to make a stable and, above all, durable connection between the PCB and connected accessories or devices. The Goldpin crimper significantly speeds up electronic work. Additionally, it is easy to use, so it can be successfully used by both beginners and experienced electronics engineers, as well as hobbyists and DIY enthusiasts.
