Product description: Dual-band GPS / RTK L1 + L5 module with GNSS LC29H(DA) system - overlay for Raspberry Pi - Waveshare 25279
The LC29H(DA) GPS module with a GNSS receiver was designed to work with Raspberry Pi or Jetson Nano minicomputers. It has the ability to simultaneously track L1 and L5 satellite signals and applies algorithms to improve accuracy in urban areas. The module supports high-speed, dual-band RTK Rover positioning at the centimeter level, which is ideal for precise positioning of end devices. The LC29H(DA) supports simultaneous tracking of satellite signals from multiple GNSS systems such as GPS, BDS, GLONASS, Galileo and QZSS , ensuring reliable and accurate navigation even in difficult terrain conditions. In addition, this module offers support for A-GNSS (Assisted GNSS) technology, reducing the time of first positioning after cold start to just 5 seconds. The integrated LNA system and SAW filter ensure high sensitivity and resistance to interference, and the ML1220 battery allows you to store ephemeris information and quickly start the module. The LC29H(DA) is also equipped with 4 LEDs indicating the module's operating status, making diagnosis and monitoring easier.
The manufacturer has also prepared a user's guide with sample programs for Raspberry Pi .

RTK (Real Time Kinematic) technology
RTK technology used in GNSS modules to ensure real-time positioning precision. RTK is based on a differential method of processing observations of the phase carrier of two measuring stations, which enables position determination with an accuracy of centimeters . The base RTK module (like the LC29H(BS) ) is placed at known, fixed coordinates, and the mobile module (like the LC29H(DA)) receives corrections from the base station, allowing for quick and accurate positioning in real time. This is particularly important in applications requiring high precision , such as navigation of autonomous vehicles, geodetic field measurements or precision agriculture.
