The DFRobot ultrasonic sensor enables precise distance measurement in the range of 3 cm to 500 cm , with an accuracy of 1 + (S × 0.3%) cm . It communicates via a digital RS485 interface (Modbus-RTU protocol) , which allows easy integration with automation systems and microcontrollers such as Arduino. The distance sensor is characterized by a fast response time of 15 to 750 ms , a compact design and high environmental resistance (IP67) , making it suitable for use in difficult outdoor conditions. Advanced ultrasound processing technology ensures effective filtering of interference from other ultrasound sources, guaranteeing measurement stability even in environments with high signal intensity.

Sensor leads and connections
The sensor has four pins: red line (VCC) , black (GND) , yellow (RS485 line B) and white (RS485 line A) . The recommended connection is to use Arduino and a TTL to RS485 converter (e.g. DFR0259 ), which amplifies the signal and ensures compatibility of the interfaces. Before starting the sensor, switch the converter to "AUTO" mode for programming, and then - to the operating mode ("RUN") at a standard speed of 115200 bps. This type of configuration allows for fast and reliable data processing in robotics and automation applications.
