MIDI Unit is a module for controlling MIDI channels and sound synthesis , based on the SAM2695 chip. It supports the MIDI 1.0 standard , offers 64-voice polyphony, and also has an opto-isolated MIDI input and output in the form of 5-pin DIN sockets and a 3.5 mm jack . Bypass mode connects MIDI ports, and Separate allows them to be separated. Communication takes place via the UART interface (31520 bps). It is equipped with optical isolation and a Grove port for integration with M5Stack development modules. It is ideal for creating electronic music and interactive installations.

MIDI Unit is a versatile MIDI control and sound synthesis module designed for integration with M5Stack systems. Equipped with the SAM2695 chip, supporting the MIDI 1.0 standard (16 channels), which supports 64-voice polyphony (without effects) or 38-voice (with effects), enabling realistic reproduction of MIDI instruments. It has two 5-pin DIN ports and three 3.5 mm audio jack outputs , which allows flexible connection of MIDI instruments and controllers. The mode switch allows you to choose between direct (Bypass) and independent (Separate) connection. Communication via UART (31520 bps) and optical isolation ensure stable signal transmission. The module works with the M5Stack ecosystem via the Grove port and is compatible with Arduino IDE and UIFlow 2.0. It is perfect for music production, on stage and in interactive sound installations.

Compatibility and programming
MIDI Unit is compatible with M5Stack controllers such as Core , Core2 , CoreS3 , Atom and StickC . It uses the Grove (UART) port for communication, requiring pin numbering adjustments in the code. It supports programming in Arduino IDE and UIFlow 2.0 environments, and the available libraries facilitate the implementation of MIDI functions, such as instrument control or sound synthesis.
