MicroMod - a series of prototype modules for demanding users
The series of MicroMod modules, due to the unique way of mounting extension modules and central boards (containing the processor selected by the user), is perfect for those looking for a proven, easy-to-use and very universal prototype platform. Boards known as Carrier Boards are a kind of base platforms that allow you to connect the processor module and use it as a standalone development kit. A separate category are Main Boards - in their case, the user has one slot for the processor module and two larger ones, intended for plugging in functional overlays, containing e.g. WiFi, Bluetooth, LoRa modules, environmental sensors, Ethernet interfaces or small TFT displays. The whole is complemented by a base plate, created for lovers of the SparkFun Feather series (MicroMod Thing Plus). It is also worth paying attention to the very interesting MicroMod Big Display Carrier Board - it allows you to control a screen or projector with an HDMI input from ... a processor module with an RP2040 microcontroller.
Main modules from the MicroMod series
In addition to a wide range of functional overlays and base plates, our offer also includes main modules from the MicroMod series. These are the smallest (in terms of dimensions) boards in the prototype ecosystem of the SparkFun brand - each of them contains a system from one of the most popular series of microcontrollers (ESP23, SAMD51 or RP2040) or IoT modules (e.g. Artemis with the Ambiq Micro Apollo3 processor). On the boards, apart from the processors themselves, there are also the necessary elements supporting their work, including quartz resonators, LED status indicators, or external Flash memories.
