The module is equipped withPN532 transmitter-receiversystem providing wireless communication in 13.56 MHz band. It communicates via UART(default) and I2Cinterfaces.The set includes an antenna with u.FL connector with arange of 50 mm.The module operates inISO14443type A and B. Power supply voltage is 3.3 V.
Product compatible with Arduino The manufacturer has prepared auser guide witha sample code. |
What is NFC?
NFC (Near Field Communications) is a system of communication between devices that are very close to each other (up to 20 cm). The interface does not require authentication, it is an RFID extension focused primarily on data exchange in mobile phones, e.g. to make a quick payment. The module can read so-called RFIDtags, which are e.g. cards and pendants operating on 13.56 MHz frequency. Built-in antenna allows for communication within a range of up to 10 cm even through non-metallic covers or housings.

Connection of Grove NFC v1.1 module with an antenna
The module is equipped with Grove connector allowing for direct connection to Arduinobymeans of Grove - BaseShield v2overlay. By defaultit communicates by means of UART interface, in order to change the interface to I2C it is necessary to break the connection of pads and solder the contacts as shown in the graphics below.
The bus is selected using the jumpers on the back of the board.
