ICS43434 MEMS Microphone with I2S Interface - Adafruit 6049

Index: ADA-26730 EAN: 5904422388041
The ICS43434 is an ultra-thin digital MEMS microphone with an I2S interface that converts audio directly to digital data , eliminating the need for analog conversion and minimizing interference. A frequency range of 50 Hz to 15 kHz and a built-in low-pass filter ensure clear audio. With a digital I2S output, the microphone supports three signals: Clock, Data, and Word Select , allowing easy connection to Cortex M series microcontrollers (SAMD21, SAMD51, ESP32, RP2040, RP2350) or minicomputers like the Raspberry Pi.

Product description: ICS43434 MEMS Microphone with I2S Interface - Adafruit 6049

With a digital I2S output, the microphone supports three signals: Clock, Data, and Word Select , allowing easy connection to Cortex M-series microcontrollers (SAMD21, SAMD51, ESP32, RP2040, RP2350) or minicomputers such as the Raspberry Pi . The user can select the channel (left/right) using the Select pin, and using two microphones can achieve full stereo. The microphone has a bottom-mounted port - the microphone opening should be pointed towards the sound source. It operates within a voltage range of 1.6 V to 3.6 V and is not designed for 5 V logic . The module provides instant 24-bit output without the need for firmware or driver configuration.

ICS43434 MEMS microphone with I2S interface - Adafruit 6049.
The ICS43434 microphone is an ultra-thin digital MEMS microphone with an I2S interface that converts sound directly into digital data.

Special features of the module

  • Microphone type: Digital MEMS with I2S interface for pure digital signal processing
  • Recording frequency range: 50 Hz to 15 kHz, ideal for general sound recording and detection
  • Digital output: I2S, no analog signal, eliminating interference typical of analog microphones
  • Channel selection: left or right, set by the Select pin, allows flexible stereo configurations
  • Microphone direction: bottom port - the opening is directed directly towards the sound source for better recording quality
  • Supply voltage: 1.6V to 3.6V, compatible with most microcontrollers and single-board computers

Practical applications

  • Sound recording and audio recording in embedded projects
  • Voice control and sound recognition
