A small, single channel DRV8256E motor driver created by Pololu company. The module is powered from 4.5V to 48V. Continuous current per channel is 1.9 A (momentary up to 6.4 A for 1 second). Connection of DRV8256P motor driver

The controller supports motors supplied with 4.5 V to 48 V, which must be connected to the VIN pin. In a typical application, it is sufficient to connect the motor direction control lines to IN1/IN2. Both lines are internally pulled up to ground through a resistor. SLEEP pin allows switching the system into low power mode. A low state must be specified to enter sleep mode.

Pin Default state Description
VIN Input voltage from 4.5 V to 48 V (reverse polarity protection operates up to 40 V).
GND System ground for motor and logic (controller and motor power ground must be connected).
VM Pin giving access to the motor power supply after the MOSFET reverse voltage protection operates. It can be used to power other elements of the system with reverse polarity protection.
OUT1 Motor 1 output.
OUT2 Motor 2 output.
IN1 LOW Control input for OUT1. PWM can be used for control.
IN2 LOW Control input for OUTy. PWM can be used for control.
FAULT FLOATING Open-drain, fault output activated by a low state. Pin goes to low state when current or voltage exceeds allowable. Must be pulled up with a resistor to default to the high state.
SLEEP LOW The SLEEP input causes the controller to go into a low power state when the low state is applied. This pin can also be toggled to clear a locked overcurrent or overtemperature fault.
VREF Current limiting threshold reference voltage.
