The TB67H453FTG is a compact brushed motor controller from Toshiba in a QFN package , capable of controlling a single bidirectional DC motor with a voltage from 4.5 V to 44 V. It provides a continuous current of up to 1.1 A and is equipped with advanced protection features, including current limiting, overvoltage and overheating protection. The controller has integrated current sensors and the ability to regulate the peak current up to 2 A.

The TB67H453FTG controller is a high-quality system designed to precisely and efficiently control a single DC brushed motor . With a wide supply voltage range from 4.5 V to 44 V and a continuous current of 1.1 A , it is ideal for a variety of robotic and automation projects. The built-in active current regulation function prevents overloads, and reverse polarity protection increases application safety. The controller supports three control modes : phase / enable, PWM (IN / IN) and independent half-bridges, which provides flexibility of use and easy integration with microcontrollers.

Connecting the controller
Connecting the TB67H453FTG controller is simple and intuitive. Connect the motor supply voltage to the VIN pin, and ground to GND , which must be common with the control logic. The OUT1 and OUT2 outputs are connected directly to the brush motor terminals. The EN / IN1 and PH / IN2 pins are used to control the direction and speed using PWM signals or phase / enable mode. The PMODE pin sets the controller's operating mode, while the SLEEP pin allows the device to sleep. The VREF and IMODE pins allow you to adjust the current limit, and the CS pin allows you to monitor the motor current . If an error is detected, the FAULT pin reports a warning signal that should be monitored by the microcontroller.

The controller has the following pins to facilitate connection and control:
- VIN: 4.5V to 44V motor power supply with reverse polarity protection
- GND: common ground for the engine and control logic
- VM: power output after reverse voltage protection, can power other system components
- OUT1, OUT2: outputs for connecting the motor
- EN/IN1, PH/IN2: phase/enable control inputs
- PMODE: control mode selection (phase / enable, PWM (IN / IN), independent half-bridges)
- SLEEP: Sleep input – low level puts the controller into power saving mode
- VREF: Voltage reference for setting current limit
- IMODE: current regulation mode (default cycle by cycle)
- FAULT: error signal output (overload, overheat, low voltage)
- CS: Analog output of motor current measurement (2.5 V/A)
