Product description: Dual-band GPS / RTK L1 + L5 module with GNSS LC29H(BS) system - shield for Raspberry Pi - Waveshare 25280
LC29H(BS) GPS / RTK HAT is an advanced GNSS module that offers the RTK (Real Time Kinematic) function, enabling precise positioning at the centimeter level in real time. It supports the output of raw GNSS observations and corrections, which enables the creation of RTK base stations . Additionally, it has a built-in low-noise amplifier and an acoustic surface filter, which allows for high sensitivity and effectiveness in eliminating interference. The module has a standard 40-pin GPIO connector, which allows easy connection to Raspberry Pi and Jetson Nano . Thanks to A-GNSS (Assisted GNSS) support, the module reduces the time to first fix (TTFF) on cold start to 5 seconds. The LC29H(BS) also has a connector that supports the ML1220 battery , which allows you to store ephemeral information and quickly start up. There are also LEDs on the board that indicate the module's operating status.
The manufacturer has also prepared a user's guide with sample programs for Raspberry Pi .

RTK (Real Time Kinematic) technology
RTK technology is used in GNSS modules to ensure real-time positioning precision. RTK is based on a differential method of processing observations of the phase carrier of two measuring stations, which enables position determination with an accuracy of centimeters . The base RTK module (such as LC29H(BS)) is placed at known, fixed coordinates, and the mobile module (such as LC29H(DA)) receives corrections from the base station, allowing for quick and accurate positioning in real time. It is a key technology for applications requiring precise navigation , such as machine control, mapping systems and drones.
