Product description: Seeed Xiao nRF54L15 - BLE 6.0 / Thread / ZigBee / Matter / NFC - Seeedstudio 101991421
The Xiao nRF54L15 is a compact and advanced development board designed for modern IoT projects. It's based on the Nordic nRF54L15 , which combines a 128MHz Arm Cortex-M33 processor with a RISC-V coprocessor. With built-in power management, support for multiple wireless protocols, and industrial-grade security features , the board is ideal for wearables, smart sensors, and consumer products. Its compact size and USB Type-C connector allow for easy integration into commercial and hobbyist projects.

The development board supports multiple wireless protocols, including BLE 6.0, Matter, Thread, and ZigBee (IEEE 802.15.4-2020).
Main features of Xiao nRF54L15
- Modern SoC : Arm Cortex-M33 128 MHz + RISC-V 128 MHz
- Multi-protocol support : Bluetooth 6.0, ZigBee, Thread, Matter, NFC, Amazon Sidewalk
- Ultra-low power consumption : ideal for battery operation, System OFF mode below 0.6 µA
- Integrated charging system : Li-Ion battery charging via USB Type-C
- 16 GPIOs : PWM, ADC, UART, SPI, I2C and RTC support
- Advanced security : TrustZone, encryption, tamper protection
- Compact size : only 21 x 17.8 mm - easy integration into PCBs
Communication pins and interfaces
The Xiao nRF54L15 module offers a wide range of connectors and interfaces – 16 GPIO pins support functions such as PWM, UART, SPI, I2C, and ADC. Additionally, there are JTAG/SWD debug pins for both the nRF54L15 chip and the supporting SAMD11 microcontroller. The board has two NFC pins and an IPEX antenna connector , which allows the use of an external antenna. The board also includes a user button, an LED, and a battery charge indicator . Wireless communication includes BLE 6.0. (including Channel Sounding), Thread, ZigBee, Matter and proprietary protocols 2.4 GHz up to 4 Mb/s.
SDK programming and support
The Xiao nRF54L15 is designed with developers using advanced environments in mind. The board supports the nRF Connect SDK , the Zephyr RTOS operating system , and the PlatformIO environment. This enables the creation of stable, scalable applications using extensive documentation and ready-made code examples. It's worth noting that the module is not compatible with the Arduino IDE .
Differences between Xiao nRF54L15 and Sense version
The Xiao nRF54L15 Sense version has been enhanced with two key components: a PDM digital microphone and a 6-axis IMU sensor (LSM6DS3TR-C) . This enables projects based on sound analysis and motion detection. Compared to the standard Xiao nRF54L15 model, the Sense version offers identical performance, communication features, and pinout , but also expands application possibilities in areas such as wearables, HMIs, and gesture interfaces. Both versions are fully compatible with the nRF Connect SDK and Zephyr RTOS.
