Product description: D45V5F12 - step-down converter - 12V 0.5A - Pololu 5437
D45V5F12 is one of the modules from the series of miniature voltage regulators from Pololu , based on a synchronized step-down converter . It allows to obtain an output voltage of 12 V from an input in the range of 12.5 V to 65 V. The maximum continuous output current depends on the input voltage and thermal conditions - it is typically 500 mA , and up to 700 mA . The device is characterized by high efficiency, low self-consumption (< 0.2 mA) and built-in protection against overheating and short circuit. Thanks to its miniature dimensions, it works great in tight design spaces.

Special Features
- Output voltage 12 V with ± 4% accuracy - the module provides a stable voltage of 12 V, making it an ideal solution for systems requiring precise power supply, such as microcontrollers, sensors or communication modules
- Maximum output current up to 700 mA (typically 500 mA) - although the manufacturer declares a typical current output of 500 mA, the regulator is able to handle values up to 700 mA in appropriate conditions (cooling). This allows for powering more demanding loads without the risk of overload
- Wide input voltage range: from 12.5 V to 65 V - the regulator can work with high input voltages, making it a universal choice for industrial applications, battery power supplies or solar installations
- Switching frequency 1.1 MHz - high operating frequency ensures smaller passive components and fast system response. In case of low load, the regulator automatically reduces the frequency, increasing energy efficiency
- Built-in protection against short circuit and overheating - the module is equipped with mechanisms that protect both the controller itself and the connected devices against the effects of overloads, short circuits or excessive temperature rise
Converter terminals
- VOUT - output voltage 12 V
- GND - system ground (common for VIN and VOUT)
- VIN - input voltage from 12.5 V to 65 V
