Gravity - SCI DAQ Module is a module from DFRobot that combines a number of functionalities. It enables the acquisition and interpretation of data from various sensors, without the need for additional conversion to a given format. The module is also equipped with a display on which the measured values are presented, and Gravity connectors that allow for quick connection of peripheral devices. Other functions of the module include automatic recognition of the connected sensor , its calibration and storage of data collected by it. It also has a built-in RTC real-time clock and uses the I2C bus for communication purposes. It is compatible with boards such as micro:bit, Arduino, Raspberry Pi or UNIHIKER.
The manufacturer has prepared a detailed user guide that shows how to use the potential of the module. He has also developed a number of tutorials (you will find them in the useful links at the end of the product description).
Special features of the module
- In the central part of the board there is a display that presents processed data from the sensor in real time, which allows for continuous monitoring of parameters.
- Around the display there are convenient plug-and-play connectors, compatible with the Gravity standard, through which the connected I2C sensor is automatically recognized.
- It has a calibration function which is useful when using sensors that require calibration before use (e.g. PH and TDS).
- It allows you to store data in the built-in 16 MB memory, allowing you to deposit over 400,000 data. Moreover, they can be exported to a computer via the USB Type-C interface for further analysis and processing.
- The built-in RTC clock records the exact time of obtaining a given measurement, which can be useful when tracking trends in a given environment.
Data conversion
Gravity - SCI DAQ Module automatically converts the signal to appropriate physical quantities and then transfers them in a uniform format "name1: value1, unit1; name2: value2, unit2". This functionality eliminates the need to manually change the formats of individual measurements and implement additional libraries . This significantly simplifies the programming stage of the system and speeds up data acquisition.
