Product description: Odroid M2 - mini computer with Rockchip RK3588S2 processor + 8 GB RAM
Odroid M2 is a single-board minicomputer that meets the needs of demanding users. Equipped with the RK3588S2 system with two quad-core processors - Cortex-A55 and Cortex-A76 , it provides impressive performance while maintaining low energy consumption. With 8 GB of LPDDR5 RAM , 64 GB of built-in eMMC memory and the ability to connect NVMe drives , Odroid M2 is perfect for industrial applications, embedded systems, and multimedia projects. It supports dual 4K displays , making it also suitable for graphic applications and HMI (Human-Machine Interface).
The manufacturer has prepared a user guide that will help you get started with the minicomputer.
Comparison of Odroid M1 and Odroid M2
The Odroid M2 is significantly more powerful than its predecessor the Odroid M1 , thanks to the use of the modern RK3588S2 SoC instead of the RK3568B2. The differences in performance are visible in several key aspects:
- The Odroid M2's multiprocessing performance is about three times faster than the M1, which translates into faster and more efficient operation of multiple applications at the same time
- The M2's LPDDR5 RAM offers more than twice the bandwidth of the M1, significantly improving performance in memory-intensive applications
- The GPU in Odroid M2 is more than five times faster , which provides significantly better graphics performance, especially in multimedia applications and games
- The M2's NPU (neural processing unit) performs more than three times faster , accelerating AI and machine learning tasks
- The Odroid M2's 64GB eMMC memory is also twice as fast thanks to the HS400 interface, which speeds up data access compared to the M1
Additionally, Odroid M2, despite higher performance, retains relatively low power consumption.

eMMC memory
Odroid M2 is equipped with a built-in 64 GB eMMC memory, which eliminates the need to use replaceable eMMC modules. Thanks to the support of the HS400 interface, data transfer reaches speeds of up to 260 MB / s , which is three times faster than typical microSD cards. This is an ideal solution for applications that require fast access to data and operational stability.
M.2 NVMe Slot
If 64GB of onboard storage isn't enough, the Odroid M2 offers the ability to connect NVMe SSDs in the M.2 format . Although the slot supports PCIe 2.1 with a single lane, which limits transfer speeds to around 400 MiB/s , it's still fast enough for most embedded systems and storage-intensive applications.
Real Time Clock (RTC)
The minicomputer has a built-in real-time clock (RTC) system, which operates on the basis of the PCF8563 system. The clock and calendar can operate for up to 10 years without main power supply if a CR2032 battery (not included) is installed. This is especially useful in systems that must maintain accurate time even in the event of a power loss.
Cooling fan
Due to the high computing power and graphics performance, the Odroid M2 may require cooling during intensive loads. The kit includes a fan , the speed of which can be adjusted via PWM to ensure optimal cooling while maintaining a low noise level. When working in graphics mode, thanks to the hardware support of the GPU, the fan works sporadically, because the device generates relatively little heat.
M2 Programming
The minicomputer supports a variety of operating systems, including Android 13 and Ubuntu 20.04 LTS . Thanks to open drivers and libraries, you can create applications using GPIO, I2C, SPI, UART and PWM. The M2 offers support for the Wayland-based GNOME graphical interface and tools for using NPU and VPU, making it an ideal choice for creating systems with advanced AI and multimedia applications.
