What are the most important aspects of power supplies for electronic devices?
The basic parameters to be considered when deciding on the optimum power supply for equipment are, first of all, the rated mains supply voltage, the rated output voltage, the current capacity, the type of output plug and, depending on its type, the polarity of the output voltage. The output voltage regulation system of the power supply must be characterized by high efficiency and resistance to interference in case of fast load switching. Most of our Odroid minicomputer models require a power supply with an output voltage of 5 V DC and a current capacity of 4 A. However, a power supply with the same current capacity but with an output voltage of 15 V is provided for the Odroid H2 minicomputer. The power supplies we offer are compatible with the Odroid modules and are equipped with a circular plug with an inner diameter of 2.1 mm and an outer diameter of 5.5 mm, matching the power connector on the Odroid boards.
Smart power with the SmartPower2 board for Odroid
One of the most important characteristics for the development of embedded systems is the analysis of parameters depicting their power requirements. Among the many types of quality tests, it is important to check the efficiency of software operation in an embedded system depending on the parameters of its power source. The Odroid SmartPower2 board offered by us is an ideal tool to perform this kind of task. In a nutshell, it is a smart power module that can periodically record and store in memory parameters such as the supply voltage, current consumed, and power load of the powered system, for the purpose of analyzing and optimizing the power consumption of the powered minicomputer. The user can read the measurement results on the built-in LCD display type 1602.
