What is required to start working with a Odroid C4 minicomputer?
- MicroSD memory card or eMMC memory- the medium on which the operating system will be installed
- 12 V / 2 A power supply unit- to power a minicomputer
- HDMI cable- to connect the device to a monitor or display
- Mouse and keyboard- to navigate the system and enter data
Operating system
Operating systems recommended for Odroid C4 are Linux Ubuntu 20.04 and Android Pie 9.0. As with other minicomputers, we use a microSD card or eMMC as a memory carrier.

Communication with the minicomputer
Odroid for communication uses well-known and used in many devices interfaces:
- Five USB connectors - oneof the most popular connectors used in electronics, the USB connectors allow you to connect peripheral devices such as a mouse, keyboardand WiFi network card. The number of USB ports can be further expanded by using USB Hubs.
- Ethernet socket- using the Ethernet socket, we can connect a minicomputer directly to the network.
- 40-pin GPIO connector- output/input connectors that can be used to connect LEDs, buttons, motor controllers. Among them there are pins supporting interfaces: I2C, SPI and UART.
- microSD slot and eMMC card slot- connectors for communication with storage media.
Power supply for Odroid C4 minicomputer
To power the system usesDC Jackconnector, the manufacturer recommends that the voltage given to the connector should be 5.0 V, the current capacity of such a power supply should be at least 2.0 A.
A suitable heatsink has also been attached to the minicomputer, thanks to which the temperature generated by the minicomputer is efficiently drained from the system.
