Product description: L1/L5 Breakout GNSS Module - NEO-F10N - SMA - SparkFun GPS-24114
SparkFun GNSS L1/L5 Breakout - NEO-F10N is a next-generation satellite navigation module that uses L1 and L5 bands , providing more accurate positioning in dense urban areas. It supports simultaneous reception of GPS , Galileo and BeiDou signals, and u-blox F10 technology reduces multipath interference, increasing accuracy. The module has a UART port and a CH340 USB-UART converter, which makes it easy to connect to a computer. An integrated battery supports RTC , reducing the time to obtain position from 28 s (cold start) to 2 s (hot start). Leaded pins facilitate integration with microcontrollers , and the SMA connector allows for the connection of an external antenna. The module supports NMEA and UBX protocols, configured via u-center.

What is GNSS?
GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) is a global satellite navigation system including GPS (USA), Galileo (Europe), BeiDou (China) and GLONASS (Russia). It allows determining the position on Earth by receiving signals from satellites . The use of multiple systems simultaneously increases precision and resistance to interference, which is crucial in modern navigation systems.
Practical applications
The NEO-F10N module will prove useful in many applications:
- Drones and robotics - precise positioning in space
- Geodetic measurements - better accuracy in difficult urban conditions
- Navigation systems - integration with microcontrollers to build GPS devices
- Vehicle monitoring - precise tracking of transport routes
- IoT projects - integration with position tracking systems in smart devices
