Product description: LPS22DF - pressure and altitude sensor 126 kPa - I2C / I3C / SPI - 1.8 - 5.5 V - Pololu 2898 - soldered connectors
The LPS22DF is a Pololu pressure and altitude sensor based on a modern MEMS chip from STMicroelectronics . Thanks to an integrated 3.3V voltage regulator and logic level converters , the module can be used with systems powered from 1.8V to 5.5V . It provides accurate pressure measurement in the range of 260 mbar to 1260 mbar (26 kPa to 126 kPa), and its data can be easily converted to altitude . Its compact design with a 2.54mm pitch makes the sensor ideal for prototyping, drones, weather stations, and IoT projects. It offers configurable options such as selectable averages, various FIFO modes, a programmable external interrupt signal , and built-in temperature compensation. It features soldered connectors for hassle-free module connection.
Main features of the pressure and altitude sensor
- Measuring range: from 26 kPa to 126 kPa with an accuracy of ±0.5 mbar
- Built-in 3.3V voltage regulator: allows the module to be powered from 1.8V to 5.5V
- Support for multiple communication interfaces: I2C, I3C and SPI
- Data Output: 24-bit pressure readings with a resolution of 4096 LSb/mbar
- Low current consumption: only 1 mA
- Built-in compensations and filters: eliminate the effects of temperature and interference
Communication via I2C and SPI - flexibility in integration
The LPS22DF offers I2C, I3C, and SPI digital interfaces, providing versatile communication with microcontrollers . In I2C mode, the SDA and SCL lines are leveled to VIN, enabling direct connection to 5V systems . The I2C address can be changed via the SA0 pin, facilitating the use of multiple sensors on a single bus . In SPI mode, 4- and 3-line configurations are supported, with full control over transmission via the CS pin. Low noise and high accuracy make the sensor suitable for even demanding applications.
LPS22DF sensor pinouts
- VDD - output voltage 3.3 V with current capacity up to 150 mA
- VIN - input voltage from 1.8 V to 5.5 V
- GND - system ground
- SDA / SDI / SDO - I2C bus data line, SPI input data line (SDO in 3-wire mode); high state is equal to VIN voltage, low state is GND
- SCL / SPC - I2C bus clock line; high state is equal to VIN voltage, low state is GND
- SDO / SA0 - SPI bus output data line (data-out) or address change in the case of I2C; high state is equal to VDD voltage, low state is GND, the pins do not have a voltage converter - they only work with 3.3 V voltage
- CS - chip select SPI Enable; the pin is in the high state by default (I2C interface active), to start SPI communication you must give the low state
- INT1_DRDY - programmable interrupt; high state is equal to 3.3 V, low state is GND, pins do not have a voltage converter and only work with 3.3 V
