MagnetoPot is a unique, sealed linear potentiometer operating on the principle of magnetic interaction, without the traditional mechanical slider . Instead of physically moving the contact across a resistor , the position is determined by an external magnet that attracts the internal ferromagnetic element and generates a linear output signal. The 50 mm active length model has a male pin connector and offers a nominal resistance of 10 kΩ . MagnetoPot is resistant to contamination, moisture and abrasion, making it ideal for applications in harsh environments such as measuring liquid levels or the position of hydraulic and pneumatic pistons . Unlike traditional contract switches, MagnetoPot provides full position information, not just an "open" or "closed" signal.
