The Shelly Shutter + BLU Button Tough 1 kit combines an intelligent roller shutter controller with energy consumption measurement and a durable BLE button for activating programmed actions . Shelly Shutter enables remote control of roller shutters, Venetian blinds, curtains, and awnings equipped with single-phase AC motors with limit switches. In addition to up/down movement, it also allows you to adjust the slat angle , providing precise light and privacy control. The BLU Button Tough 1 expands the kit's functionality with quick action triggering – with a single, double, triple, or long press, you can trigger a scene, set a selected roller shutter position, or trigger automation. Thanks to the WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, the system offers full automation without the need for a gateway.

Installation and integration into the roller shutter system

The Shelly Shutter is designed for installation in a standard junction box , behind a roller shutter switch. Its 110V to 240V~ 50/60Hz power supply allows for installation in typical electrical systems. The device works with single-phase AC motors equipped with mechanical or electronic limit switches, which should be properly set before connection. The controller can operate locally via Wi-Fi or remotely via the cloud. Configuration is possible via the Shelly Smart Control app . which is available for Android and iOS systems or via the built-in web interface. The module supports integration with Amazon Alexa, Google Smart Home, Samsung SmartThings , and systems based on MQTT and KNXnet/IP.

The Shelly Shutter installation process is extremely simple and does not require any electrical upgrades.

The controller connects to the free Shelly Smart Control app, available for Android and iOS, allowing you to manage your home from anywhere in the world.

Scene control and Bluetooth functionality

The BLU Button Tough 1 uses Bluetooth Low Energy technology and allows you to trigger actions through various press combinations . Depending on the configuration, you can lower the blinds with a single click, set them to 50% with a double click, or activate the "Leaving Home" scene with a long press. The button is powered by a CR2032 3V battery with a lifespan of up to 2 years. Communication is secured with AES (CCM) encryption . Shelly Shutter can act as a BLE gateway , receiving signals from the button and forwarding them to local or cloud-based automations. Thanks to its high resistance to shock, dust, and splashes (IP54 standard), the button can be safely used in the kitchen, bathroom, and even on the terrace. The Beacon Mode function also allows for automatic scene triggering when the user enters the receiver's range, creating a truly intelligent space.
