Product description: 2.1'' 480 x 480 px DPI IPS LCD capacitive touch screen GPIO - HyperPixel Round for Raspberry Pi
A clear 2.1 '' IPS capacitive touch screen with a resolution equal to 480 x 480 px. It works with Raspberry Pi, supports Raspberry Pi OS and Python. The viewing angle is 175°. It features low power consumption. It has a fast DPI interface. It can be used with any Raspberry Pi with 40-pin GPIO connector, it is especially recommended with Raspberry Pi Zero minicomputer.
Installation with Raspberry Pi
The Hyperpixel Round is compatible with any 40-pin version of the Raspberry Pi, including the Pi Zero and Pi Zero W. For the full-size Raspberry version, you will need a goldpin strip and extended spacers (not included) to connect. For the Raspberry Pi Zero or Pi Zero W, on the other hand, you won't need a strip, but you may need special short distances to make a secure and stable connection.
When installing the HyperPixel 2.1'' Round from your Raspberry Pi, make sure you don't press on the screen surface. It is recommended to place the display with the screen down on a soft surface to gently pin the Raspberry Pi in its designated spot. When removing the Hyperpixel, be careful not to pull on the edges of the glass display - it is best to hold the rectangular circuit board.
The glass edges of the display protrude from the circuit board and are quite exposed, it is worth taking extra care with them.
Software
HyperPixel has separate screen drivers and touch drivers, making it easier to incorporate touch interfaces into your own programs. To download and install the screen drivers:
git clone https://github.com/pimoroni/hyperpixel2r
cd hyperpixel2r
sudo ./install.sh
HyperPixel uses all GPIO pins to communicate with the Pi (including the standard I2C pins), making it impossible to use with other HATs and devices that connect via GPIO.
Instead, an alternative I2C interface is provided on the back, which allows you to use I2C devices (such as sensor connectors) at the same time as the HyperPixel. For user instructions, see the Hyperpixel 4.0 tutorial.
