What it takes to run minicomputer UP?
- USB disk - carrier that contains the system image to install.
- AC adapter:
- 5 V / 4 A only for the minicomputer
- HDMI cable- to connect the device to the monitor
- Mouse and keyboard - to control and input data into the device
Minicomputer UP works with the systems Android, Windows 10, ublinux, Ubuntu and Yocto. The device has 64 GB of memory eMMC.
Operating system
Minicomputer UP board works with the systems Android, Windows 10, ublinux, Ubuntu, and Yocto. The kit does not have a Windows license, it must be purchased separately.
The installation of the Windows operating is very simple, below are brief instructions:
- To install Windows you will need an external USB hard drive with capacity of at least 4GB, for example, Pendrive.
- On the disk you have to create a Windows image - the image can be downloaded from the official Microsoft website. It can be created via any program that can be found on the Internet or via using the tool MediaCreationTool created by the Microsoft - on theMicrosoft website are available installation instruction and download file.
- Next, you need to connect the drive to a USB port in minicomputer. When connected to the current, it should show immiedatelly the image of the installation.
- Before beginning the installation process, you must delete all partitions which are on disk of minicomputer.
- The manufacturer has prepareda package of driversdesigned for minicomputer UP board.
Communication
Minicomputer UP has the basic communication interfaces which can be found in office computers of PC class. The user has at his or her disposal:
- four USB 2.0 connectors,to which can be connected, for example, a mouse, a keyboard, a wi-fi card or USB flash drive. If you find that the slots are too short, you can increase their number usingan external USB HUB.
- Ethernet slot, that is the ability to directly connect to the network.
- 40 x pin GPIO -outputs/inputs with general purpose that can be used to control the LEDs, buttons, drivers of engines. Among them are the pins supporting interfaces: I2C, SPI and UART.
Power
As a power source, the system uses the DC connector 5,5 / 2,1 mm. Manufacturer recommends that the voltage indicated on the plug had a value of 5.0 V and an output current of the used adapter shall be not less than 4.0 A. In our assortment, you will finda special adapter.
