The HC-SR04 is a popular ultrasonic module designed for precise, non-contact distance measurement . The sensor utilizes a 40 kHz ultrasonic transmitter and receiver . Measurement is achieved by analyzing the return time of the signal reflected from an obstacle. A measurement range of 2 cm to 400 cm and an accuracy of up to 3 mm make the module ideal for building mobile robots, obstacle avoidance systems, intelligent devices, and educational projects. The sensor is equipped with four pins : VCC, Trig, Echo, and GND, ensuring easy integration with microcontrollers and development platforms. HC-SR04 Sensor Pinout and Compatibility
The module features four basic pins for quick integration with electronic systems. The VCC pin powers the module with a voltage between 3.3V and 5V , GND provides the system ground, and the Trig and Echo pins are used to trigger measurements and receive feedback, respectively. The sensor is compatible with popular educational and prototyping platforms, such as Arduino , SparkFun RedBoard , micro:bit , ESP32 , ESP8266 , and Raspberry Pi .
