Self-adhesive and screw-on feet - is it worth using them?
Feet is an important part of many electronic projects. They can be used in particular to work with Arduino, Raspberry Pi or other mikrokontrolerami, as well as almost any electronic system equipped in the body. The presence of legs, made of a suitable material to minimize noise and vibration and prevents unwanted movement of the body (for example, due to vibration). The module legs are also more stable and easy to use, and its appearance is more professional and aesthetic.
What feet to use?
On the market legs available in different variants, which differ in size, material of manufacture, method of installation and purpose. First we need to define the desired height and diameter of the legs (too large will be unsightly and inappropriate, while too little unstable). The material is usually plastic or rubber with plastic the legs are a little stronger, and have better rubber properties of the slip. Some models additionally feature a layer of foam - it prevents scratches the surface on which is placed the module, and provides additional protection from vibration. In the shop you can find self-adhesive feet and bolted. Those first, they are faster and easier to install, and the housing must not be fitted into the corresponding hole - however, the legs are attached to hold the bolt better so you should apply them in intensively managed projects. Legs are universal, as well as models designed for use with solid Kradex or other manufacturers.
