A short but intensive development history
AB Electronics was founded in 2012 in the United Kingdom. The brand was created by two brothers professionally involved in electronics (for many years, however, rather in the field of device servicing) and computer science. As they themselves mention, the idea to produce Raspberry Pi compatible modules came from their own private home monitoring project. The popularity of the project presented on the Internet made its authors decide to turn good ideas into business - under the AB Electronics banner.

We have introduced the most interesting solutions offered by British manufacturers to our offer. You will find here, among others, RPi Plus Breakout Kit prototyping board which is connected directly to GPIO pins in order to connect the minicomputer with contact or prototyping boards. You will also find a Raspberry Pi expander developed by AB Electronics, allowing you to increase the pin count by 16 digital input and output pins, as well as 8 12-bit analogue inputs. Furthermore, the expander contains a built-in real-time clock (DS1307).

Among AB Electronics overlays, we also recommend a module that allows communication with Raspberry Pi via RS232 interface. The board contains a MAX3232 chip, as well as a converter, DB9 connector and a large space for prototype circuit design. Also look out for the 1 Wire Pi Plus DS2482 module. With this overlay, the 1-Wire communication protocol becomes available for the Raspberry Pi minicomputer. The board contains the DS2482-100 driver and the overlay has been antistatic protected. Thanks to GPIO pins it can be cascaded with other modules.
