Capacitors kits
Capacitors consist of two electrodes that are separated by a dielectric. These are small and inconspicuous components that resemble the protruding small heads of printed circuit boards. However, the task of the capacitors is very important to the operation of the electronics. As soon as the power source is connected to the electrodes, charges begin to accumulate on the capacitor plates. Importantly, disconnecting the power supply (current flow) does not make the electric charges disappear. On the contrary, they will still be present thanks to electrostatic attraction. The most important parameter of electronic capacitors is their capacity (farads). Depending on the intended use, a low-capacitor or a high-capacitor may be needed.
In this category, you can buy not only single capacitors for your electronic project. We also present sets of capacitors prepared by specialists with the most popular and useful capacities. This is a great way to complement your electronics workshop. When you have a whole set of such components, you will avoid a situation where during the execution of the project you will have to stop working due to the lack of needed components.
What’s the difference between capacitors? The most important parameters
Capacitors are passive electronic components. They are used in many fields and today it is practically difficult to find a single printed circuit board without even one capacitor.
Capacitors can be distinguished from each other by the material from which they are made. The most popular are electrolytic and ceramic capacitors. Ceramics are used to isolate charges. Other key parameters of the capacitors include the nominal voltage value, the exact dimensions of the element and suitability for assembly. As for the latter, the capacitor can be used for through hole (THT) or surface (SMD) mounting.
When installing electrolytic capacitors, be sure to connect the component properly. It is necessary to take into account the direction of polarization (although this does not apply to ceramic capacitors). There are also breakdown voltage, series and parallel resistance, resistance of the element to aging, mechanical resistance and temperature stability, which means the degree of parameter change with temperature fluctuations. As you can see, there are many capacitors’ parameters that are worth paying attention to. On the other hand, for home use, we usually won't need more advanced capacitors.
Ready-to-use capacitor kits
In Botland you will find ready-made sets of electrolytic capacitors made in THT technology. Each kit includes the 12 most popular types of capacitors ranging from 1 µF to 4700 µF. We offer both THT ceramic capacitors (in the set of the 10 most popular) and monolithic capacitors with an organizer. The individual sets also differ in the number of capacitors included.
In addition to the previously discussed parameters, the price of the product is also of key importance. It is always worth finding the cheapest products (if they are of the same good quality as the more expensive ones). The cost of individual elements is small, but in the case of wholesale orders, the price is important. Electrolytic capacitors are usually more expensive than ceramic capacitors. At Botland, we have different sets of capacitors available at a great & low price. Check them out now! Please contact us if you need help choosing a capacitor.
