A brief history of innovation

The idea for a robot operating window curtains was born in the head of the founder of SwitchBot quite by accident - before falling asleep he noticed that after going to bed he had to get up, turn on the light, walk to the window and ... close the curtains. From this trivial observation, an excellent idea was born for a small robot that, moving along the curtain rod using rotating rollers driven by an electric motor, will be able to freely control the curtains from anywhere in the house (and not only). In 2016, a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter was launched, and two years later the SwitchBot products hit the Amazon market. Since then, the brand's product line has been gradually developing, including new home automation devices, including door and window opening sensors, dusk sensors, control buttons, hubs, and even ... solar panels for charging SwitchBot Curtain robots - still the main axis of the offer SwitchBot.

SwtichBot Curtain, i.e. ... a robot on a curtain rod

SwitchBot Curtain Rod 2 Rail - because this is the name of the latest version of the world-famous "curtain rod" robot - is equipped with a set of well-thought-out drive rollers and two flexible arms, not only capable of keeping the robot on the curtain rod, but also able to automatically compensate for any obstacles, e.g. external connectors (extensions) of the tubes on which the curtains slide. Interestingly, despite its small size and weight (only 285 grams), the device is able to handle not only light curtains, but also massive curtains weighing up to 8 kg! The robot's housing is made of durable ABS and equipped with a UV-protective coating, and it can be controlled via a mobile application or a remote control. It is worth noting that the SwitchBot Curtain Rod 2 Rail can detect the manual removal of the curtain to a distance of several centimeters, and then continues to move itself until the end of the range.
