Prints made of liquid resins must be washed in isopropyl alcohol to remove residual material and cured using UV light to give the surface the right properties. This makes the SLA printing process more convenient and efficient. CW1S can also heat the resin to the optimum temperature.

The Prusa CW1S MFP can also heat the resin to the correct temperature for the best performance of the SL1S printer and the resin itself. Resins tend to change consistency if left unused for a while, so the bottle should be shaken well before printing.
Washing, drying and curing your prints
Printed resin models immediately after printing are quite soft and sticky. In order to obtain the right hardness and surface properties, they should be washed inisopropyl alcohol, dried and cured with UV light.
- The finished modelsare washed in isopropyl alcohol to remove any residual material from the uncured resin. Prusa CW1S is equipped with a special stainless steel tank, in which a magnetic stirrer is placed. Once the tank is filled with alcohol, the agitated liquid washes away the 3D model, even reaching hard-to-reach areas. This method is less aggressive than ultrasonic cleaning and works great even with small models.
- The washed print must bedried wellbefore UV curing to avoid resin stains.
- Curing.Resin printed models are usually soft right after the print is completed, so they are exposed to UV light to give them optimal properties.
