How does the AMS system work?
The primary function of AMS systems is automatic filament management during printing. This module automatically switches materials according to project settings, allowing you to create multi-color prints and models using different filament types. This is a very convenient solution when you want a more aesthetically pleasing print, greater design freedom, and the ability to use supports made of materials that are easier to separate from the finished model. This type of system also supports automatic switching to the next spool when one runs out, allowing you to continue printing without interruption and without the need for manual intervention.
Another important function of AMS systems is filament feed monitoring. The module can detect problems related to material resistance, fiber tangling, or incorrect spool movement. In practice, this translates into greater operational safety and a reduced risk of print failure. An additional advantage is the ability to maintain filament in better storage conditions. The closed design and the presence of moisture-reducing elements help protect the material from deterioration, resulting in a more stable printing process.
AMS systems for Bambu Lab printers
This category includes AMS HT systems, which automatically manage filament, actively dry thermoplastic material, and monitor thermoplastic storage conditions. This system helps maintain the material in proper condition before and during use. This is crucial for moisture-sensitive filaments. Accessories – hubs, filament buffers and adapters
