Product description: Filament cutter position sensor for the Elegoo Centauri Carbon 2 Combo 3D printer
The sensor board for the Centauri Carbon 2 Combo 3D printer works with the mechanical filament cutter located in the print head . The module is part of the printer's automatic material management system and participates in the color change and filament retraction processes. The board uses a magnetic Hall sensor to monitor the cutter lever position. During cutting, the mechanism is pressed, and the electronics register its movement and control its return to the initial position. This allows for the detection of a blade blockage or mechanism malfunction before the printer begins loading the next filament . Damage to the board, a displaced magnet, or the cutter blocked by plastic debris can result in incorrect mechanism positioning messages and material change issues. After replacing the module, the manufacturer recommends activating the unload function of any filament channel and verifying that cutting and material retraction are proceeding correctly.
